30/08/2025 - Circuit of Campione d’Italia

The Tazio Nuvolari Museum of ACI Mantova will take part in the Historical Reenactment of the Circuit of Campione d’Italia as a cultural partner.
The Circuit of Campione d’Italia, held in 1937 and 1946, has a glorious past.
Thanks to a layout that, like a small Monte Carlo, brushed past the town hall, the lakeshore, and the Casino, featuring two hairpins, four fast corners, two short straights, and even a tunnel passage.
At just over one kilometer in length, it is described as the “smallest circuit in the world” — but by no means less demanding than others. On the contrary.
The Circuit of Campione was first held in 1937, reserved for 1,500cc cars. Some 15,000 spectators flocked to witness the feats of drivers such as Carlo Felice Trossi, who set the fastest lap, Franco Cortese, Piero Dusio (later the patron of Cisitalia), Count Giovanni Lurani, and Giovanni Rocco, who won at the wheel of the mighty Maserati 6CM.
With war looming, after such a successful debut, the Circuit was suspended.
It returned in 1946 for its second and final edition, divided into two classes: 750 and 1,100cc.
Once again, it featured top-level names: champions such as Franco Cortese and Sesto Leonardi, the latter taking victory, while in the 1,100cc class — won by Alberto Comirato in a Fiat — even Tazio Nuvolari took part.
The first Historical Reenactment of the Circuit of Campione d’Italia will take place from September 4 to 7, 2025, organized by Ermanno De Angelis and Nunzia Del Gaudio for the Victorious brand, with the support and patronage of the Municipality of Campione d’Italia.
The event will follow the format of a “Dynamic Concours d’Elegance with Functionality Tests” — a unique opportunity to experience the adrenaline of a true city circuit in a non-competitive form, featuring 100 vehicles from the 1920s onwards, motorcycles, karts, and boats.
Complementing the event will be an exhibition paddock with a flea market and street food area, exhibitions, entertainment activities with driving simulators, and during the weekend, a tour with vehicle displays and a guided visit to Lugano.
In the paddock area, the 1st Dynamic Concours d’Elegance – Circuit of Campione will also take place, highlighting an innovative format that will showcase various aspects of the entrants: vehicle, attire, culture, presence, and dynamic performance.
