The Tazio Nuvolari Museum is proud to announce the third highly anticipated exhibition of the BEYOND section, entitled: “THE MAN WITHOUT LIMITS – Tazio Nuvolari between Courage, Speed, and Invention”.

From September to December 2025.

This new temporary exhibition opens the door to a surprising and never-before-seen portrait of the legendary champion from Mantua: not only a racing driver, but also a tireless sportsman and experimenter, ready to take on every possible challenge, under the artistic curatorship of Fabio Castagna.

A life driven by challenge.
From piloting a speedboat across Lake Garda to the daring idea of flying a rebuilt monoplane in his own backyard, Nuvolari was much more than a car racer: he mastered every vehicle, with or without an engine, turning every competition into an opportunity to surpass himself. Cycling races, duels against airplanes, competitions combining skiing and cars, his hunger for speed knew no boundaries.

An inventor on the track, a modern pioneer.
He didn’t just race: he created, improved, anticipated.
From the first “on-board water bottle” for hydration during races, to the visor that foreshadowed the modern full-face helmet, to his controlled drifting techniques still studied today: Nuvolari was also a brilliant innovator, able to transform every problem into an invention.

Two thematic showcases to narrate the legend.
The exhibition is divided into two main sections:
-“Speed in Every Form”: on display, the bicycle from his famous duel with Campari, the Baglietto speedboat powered by a Maserati engine, photographs taken by Nuvolari himself, and the monoplane he attempted to fly in 1912. A section that testifies to his unstoppable passion for motion.
-“Always Rising to the Occasion”: documents, objects, and photos dedicated to his most daring feats: from the 1935 absolute speed record on the Florence-Mare highway, to the epic duel against an airplane over the skies of Rome, to his incredible victory in the car/ski race of Bosco Chiesanuova.

An invitation to rediscover Nuvolari’s most human and extraordinary side.

“THE MAN WITHOUT LIMITS” is an exhibition designed to move, inspire, and amaze. An immersive journey enriched with digital content, curated in collaboration with GlobalMedia. It is a tribute to the man who never stopped, who made curiosity and courage his greatest allies. Tazio Nuvolari didn’t race only to win—he raced to go beyond. And this exhibition is his greatest race.

As confirmed by the Museum’s Director, Giuseppe Pottocar, this expansion not only celebrates Nuvolari’s sporting heritage but also offers visitors an educational and interactive experience, blending tradition and technology. Curator Fabio Castagna, an expert in international exhibitions, has worked to ensure a narrative that is both engaging and stimulating for all audiences, young and old alike.
