October was never just another month for Tazio Nuvolari.
If September consecrated him as a legend on Italian and European tracks, October was the month when the “Flying Mantuan” showed the entire world that his myth knew no boundaries.

In 1936, across the ocean, he lined up at the start of the Vanderbilt Cup, a symbolic race of American motorsport. Few truly believed that a European driver could prevail on American soil, yet Nuvolari overturned every prediction. With driving that was both fierce and refined, he mastered his machine like no one else, leaving the American crowd breathless. That victory was a true triumph, not only in sport, but in spirit: it proved that Tazio’s talent and courage had no barriers, not even the vast ocean.

But October held yet another unforgettable chapter. In 1938, in England, on the Donington circuit, Nuvolari delivered a masterpiece at the IV Donington Grand Prix. Before the British crowd, who already revered him as a romantic hero of racing, Tazio put on a spectacle: perfect control, masterful overtakes, and an indomitable heart. When he crossed the finish line as winner, the English fans rose to their feet, applauding not only the driver but the man who embodied the very essence of courage and passion.

Thus, October became the month when Nuvolari did not merely race: he conquered.

In fact, during this month over the course of his career, he competed in 19 races (9 on motorcycles and 10 in cars), achieving a total of 23 podiums and winning 16 of them, including 5 on motorcycles with his legendary Bianchi Freccia Celeste 350 cc.
